TOP QUESTIONS

We’re Here for You

IT'S MY FIRST EVER PROFESSIONAL MASSAGE WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? DO I NEED TO/HOW FAR DO I UNDRESS?

If you're not comfortable no one will force you to undress. We would work to the best of our ability with the clothes on. The issue with that is that depending on the fabric of your clothes we risk you getting carpet burn and if its a thicker material like denim it would severely limit my palpatory assessment capabilities. Overall it would hinder you from getting the full benefit of the massage.

Most individuals choose to either remain in their undergarments or to completely disrobe (prevents undergarments from getting oil on them or to have their elastic stretched too much). You are covered at all times. After discussing the primary complaint as well as the treatment plan, I will leave the room to give you time to disrobe and get onto the massage table. The table has sheets over them as well as an extra blanket to keep you warm. We only uncover the area that we work on at the time. The draping is continually adjusted to accommodate what area we are working on. I will always discuss with you before we work on you so you know exactly what to expect.

CAN I USE MY INSURANCE BENEFITS WITH YOU?

Yes! We work with the major coverage Providers such as Manitoba Blue Cross and the Insurance Companies that fall under Telus. We do not however provide direct billing at this time. To keep the cost of the Massage treatments low we do not charge for administrative work and leave the submitting to the Client. You will be Provided with a Receipt/Invoice to submit to your Insurance.

THE BOOKED MASSAGE IS FOR A MINOR, HOW DOES THIS AFFECT THE MASSAGE?

All kids under the age of 16 are considered a Minor and require the parent to sign a Consent Form. Kids can be very different when it comes to privacy around their parents thus it is up to the child and parents to decide whether the parent be present during the treatment. I do require the parent to be present during the consultation and assessment and the Parent MUST remain within the building for the duration of the treatment. It is a safety issue in case of an emergency (fire for example) that the Parent be there for the child. Also, we are not a babysitting service.

CAN I BRING A SUPPORT PERSON?

Yes. If you need a person to translate or a support person for any other reasons, you're welcome to bring in one person into the room with you (too cramped in the room if you bring more). As long as you are comfortable with the person being present in the room and don't mind them being there while we discuss your health concerns neither do I. If you only need their assistance to get onto the massage table, we can also make them wait in the waiting room.

Service Animals are welcome in the building. Because we are sharing the building with others, I may need to ask you to leave if the animal is being loud/disturbing. Fortunately I know that this is usually not the case with these wonderful helpers.

DOES THE CLINIC HAVE STAIRS?

No. I'm happy to say that the whole building is on ground level and all our halls and doorways are wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers. We have also have a wheelchair accessible bathroom.

Unfortunately we do not have automatic doors at this time so please, when you book an appointment, mention in the comment section that you require assistance with the door and I will be there to open it for you.

IS THE FACILITY SCENT FREE?

No. Due to the fact that we are sharing the building with other Professionals we cannot guarantee a completely scent free environment. You can however let me know in advance of any sensitivities to scents and I will avoid any scented oils or lotions for the day. I do however ask clients not to use heavy scents themselves when they come in to accommodate others. Please and thank you in advance.

DO YOU SELL GIFT CERTIFICATES?

Yes! Due to popular demand we have made Gift Certificates available. Feel free to ask about them next time you're in for an appointment.

DO YOU HAVE ANY OPENINGS THIS WEEK?

Generally, the answer is no. On rare occasion there will be a cancellation and no one on the cancellation list can make it in but generally it takes a minimum of 3-4 weeks to get an appointment and longer than that in busy season. Please keep in mind that Remedial Fix is not a Spa but a Clinic providing medical services.

DO YOU WORK WEEKENDS?

No. My hours are Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00pm-9pm and Thursday and Friday from 11am- 5:00pm. There are no plans to work on Weekends.

DO YOU DO HOME VISITS?

No. Home visits are done by mobile RMTs who have a different Liability insurance; thus, it would be illegal for me to do so. I also often get asked if I do massages at home and the answer is, no. I have a clinic space that is equipped with all the treatment necessities and is ergonomically set up for best proficiency. I will only be working here. The only exception is when I am partnered up with VLMTC for special Events, where I will be working at the VLMTC location.
